How Long Should You Steep Chaga?

One of the easiest ways to extract all nutrients and antioxidants from chaga mushroom is to let it steep in hot water. This can be achieved in the comfort of your home, at work or when you are out and about in your thermos.
There are a lot of ways you can buy chaga mushroom each of them with their own ways of preparing it. You can buy a large chunk of chaga that can be the size of your fist or bigger. For these large pieces of chaga one would want to let it soak for a few hours. Some people like to prepare a large jug of hot water and let the large piece soak overnight. Preparing it this way would yield a large volume which can be enjoyed over a few days if you keep it in the refrigerator. One can also purchase smaller chunks of chaga. Preparing these would be done just like the large pieces but extractions can be quicker.
Finally, coarsely ground or finely ground chaga is great for teas and is quicker and in our opinion easier to prepare. Coarsely ground chaga is often used with a french press or tea balls which you let sit for approximately 10 to 15 minutes to extract its goodness.
